Mrs. Johnson is heading back to kindergarten! Katie Johnson was raised in Harvey, ND and graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. For the first four years of her career, she taught kindergarten here at Oakes Elementary. This past year, she stepped into another role, exploring the waters of 4th through 6th grade ELA and math, as well as long-term subbing in the Special Ed department. For the 2023-24 school year, she is very excited to be heading back to kindergarten! Mrs. Johnson says "the little ones truly have a special place in my heart!" Katie, her husband Zach, their daughter Paisley, along with two dogs, and two cats, are happy to call Oakes their home. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, organizing anything and everything, and catching up on her favorite TV shows. Mrs. Johnson is looking forward to heading back to kindergarten this fall and is excited to get to know all of our newest Tornadoes!
