NDHSAA Fan Policies

The North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA) has several fan policies, including: 
 
  • Clothing: Fans must wear clothing that covers their entire torso. 
     
  • Language: Fans must use appropriate language and avoid profanity, negative chants, trash talk, name-calling, and personal attacks. 
     
  • Discriminatory slurs: Fans who use discriminatory slurs will be immediately removed from the facility. 
     
  • Artificial noisemakers: Artificial noisemakers like megaphones, cowbells, sirens, whistles, and thunder sticks are not allowed at indoor events. 
     
  • Throwing objects: Fans must not throw objects onto the playing floor or in the stands. 
     
  • Entering the playing surface: Fans must not enter the playing surface. 
     
  • Possession of chemicals: Fans must not possess, consume, or be under the influence of chemicals. 
     
  • Disrespectful gestures, signs, posters, or banners: Fans must not use obscene, profane, or abusive gestures, signs, posters, or banners. 
     
  • Ejection penalties: Fans who are ejected from a game will be suspended for a minimum of three games from that team's games and all other NDHSAA games until the suspension ends. 
     
  • Repeat ejection penalties: Fans who are ejected for a second time during a school year will be suspended for a minimum of one calendar year from all NDHSAA events.
