Summer EBT Benefits Available for North Dakota Families

Summer EBT Benefits Available for North Dakota Families

North Dakota families may be eligible for Summer EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) benefits this summer — a program that helps families purchase nutritious food for school-aged children when school is not in session. Eligible children receive $120 per child, which must be used within 122 days of issuance.

How to Qualify

There are two ways children may receive benefits:

Automatically Eligible (No Application Needed) Your child will be automatically enrolled if any of the following apply:

  • Approved for Free or Reduced-Price meals at an NSLP-participating school (excludes ND State 225 qualifiers, Pre-K students at non-participating schools, and Head Start students)
  • Receives SNAP, TANF, or FDPIR benefits
  • Receives Medicaid and is income-qualified
  • Is experiencing homelessness, is a migrant student, or is in foster care at an NSLP-participating school

Apply Online If your child doesn't meet automatic eligibility criteria, they may still qualify. Families who meet income requirements for free/reduced-price meals but haven't submitted a meal application, or whose child attends a school where all meals are free but doesn't receive other benefits, can apply at ndsummerebt.nd.gov.

Important Reminders

  • Make sure your child's school has your current contact information, including a valid email address.
  • Monitor communications from the North Dakota SEBT Portal.

For questions, contact the ND SEBT Team at ndsebt@nd.gov or visit ndsummerebt.nd.gov.
