June 9th Referendum Information

The School Facilities Improvement Committee didn't just review reports — they listened to this community.

The committee, made up of Oakes community members and a couple of district staff, knew that how much the referendum would cost mattered just as much as what it would fund. That's why they kept the total at $6.3 million — the investment level that came back as preferred in a community survey.

They could have included more much needed projects. They chose focus instead. Two needs. One clear plan. A number the community already said it could support.

This is what community-driven decision making looks like. Vote June 9th.
