Storm Day Forgiveness Waiver Approved by Governor Burgum

Governor Burgum has approved the storm days forgiveness waiver that was recently submitted.  This waiver covers two days and four hours of missed class time.  As of right now, our last day of school will be Thursday, May 23rd, 2019, provided there are no more weather related closings.

School will be in session on Monday, April 22nd, 2019 as a makeup day.  Below is an overview of missed days for the 2018-2019 school year.

  1. 10-11-18 – 1-hour late start (covered by (1) grace day due to the length of our school day)
  2.  1-24-19 – 2-hour late start (covered by (1) grace day due to the length of our school day)
  3. 1-28-19 – 2-hour late start (covered by (1) grace day due to the length of our school day)
  4. 1-29-19 – full day (make-up day scheduled for March 15th)
  5. 1-30-19 – full day (make-up day scheduled for April 22nd)
  6. 2-7-19 – full day (make-up day scheduled for May 23rd)
  7. 2-8-19 – 2-hour late start (made up by going to school on the early out on March 6th)
  8. 2-25-19 – 2-hour late start (waived by Governor Burgum)
  9. 3-13-19 – 2-hour late start (waived by Governor Burgum)
  10. 3-14-19 – full day (waived by Governor Burgum)
  11. 3-15-19 – full day (waived by Governor Burgum)

Without the waiver, OPS would have been in session on Friday, May 24, Tuesday, May 28th, and Wednesday, May 29th. We are thankful that the Governor has approved our request and fingers crossed that spring is here!
