Resources and Information:
A little background on myself. I grew up in Boise, ID and moved to North Dakota to attend the University of Jamestown (Go Jimmies!) I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and went on to work in corrections as a Correctional Officer, Case Manager, and Counselor Tech for four years. I went back to school with Capella University and received my Master’s Degree in School Counseling. My family consists of my husband, son, and three furry critters. We are all grateful to call Oakes home.
At Oakes High School, my involvement with the students takes place in several ways. Some of these include: providing individual/group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, collaboration with parents/guardians, and connecting the students to our community. My mission is to advocate for the students in their academic, career, and personal/social development where ever I can.
All students have the opportunity to meet with me, as needed. I am also available to meet with parents. Please feel free to contact me at (701) 742- 3234 ext. 326 or at email@example.com if you have any questions or concerns.
OHS Counseling Program Vision:

Oakes High School’s school counseling program provides a comprehensive program that follows national models and evidence-based practice to assist students in their academic, career, and personal/social development to better prepare them for tomorrow’s world.
OHS Counseling Program Goals:
I. Planning and Preparation
Goal: To plan classroom guidance lessons formed around the ASCA National Standards, that cover all three domains (academic, career, personal/social), and give these lessons monthly throughout the year to all 7-12th grade students.
Goal: To conduct needs assessments and collaborate with staff to better understand needs of the students and provide individual/group counseling and guidance lessons in areas of need.
Goal: To create a system that allows for better means for me to see the students/them to see me.
III. Family and Community Outreach
Goal: To become a main point of contact for families and the community regarding student(s) at the high school and utilize them to meet the needs of students.
IV. Professional Responsibilities
Goal: To keep up on current professional knowledge by attending workshops/conferences where I can build network opportunities and utilize this within the school.
